Five days of English, sea and paddleboarding for children aged 11 to 14

Activate's English-language camp in Cabo de Palos is a summer language immersion programme for boys and girls aged 11 to 14. It lasts five days and four nights, runs entirely in English with native-speaking instructors, and is based at Sub Up Hostel, on Calle Amoladeras, 13, a few minutes' walk from the harbour.

What participants do

Days combine sea sports, outings and group time, always speaking English:

  • paddleboarding
  • sailing
  • cycling trips
  • mindfulness
  • evening activities

A minimum level of A2 is recommended to follow the activities and talk to the rest of the group.

Groups and accommodation

Sessions are small, with 10 to 12 participants, two instructors and a support worker. The children sleep in a bunk-bed room with its own bathroom inside the hostel. Sessions run during July and August, and bookings close when all places are filled.

Calls and mobiles

Each participant calls home twice during the week using an instructor's phone. The organisers advise against bringing mobiles; if anyone brings one, it is kept safely and handed back during breaks. More ideas for children and families in activities and sport.
