Parking in La Manga in August without losing your morning

Real parking areas by kilometre point, when they fill up and where you won't get a ticket.

In August, parking in La Manga is something you sort out in the morning or not at all. The free unpaved areas on the Mar Menor side are most people's practical choice, and they fill up earlier than you'd think.

Paid parking along Gran Vía is an alternative if you arrive late, but charges only apply during morning and afternoon hours in July and August, not 24 hours a day.

Quick fact

In August, parking areas in the central stretch, between km 3 and 9, are usually full after 11:00. Before then, there's almost always space.

The list

  • 1Arrive before ten if you're heading to the stretch between km 3 and 9, where it gets busiest.
  • 2From km 13 onwards, the unpaved parking areas almost always have space, even at midday.
  • 3Don't park right beside a kilometre marker or on dune vegetation: these are the first places the towing service checks.
  • 4If you're visiting a particular restaurant, ask when booking: several have arrangements with a nearby car park.

If you're staying in an apartment, its own parking space is worth more than any advice here: in August, leaving the car where it is unless you need it is the best strategy.
