From breakfast to dinner on the hill up to Cabo de Palos lighthouse

Agua Salá is a restaurant-bar in Cabo de Palos at number 18, Carretera de Subida al Faro, the street leading from the harbour up to the lighthouse. It opens every day from early morning until midnight, with a menu combining tapas, sushi, burgers and Mediterranean cuisine. The croquettes, mentioned in dozens of reviews, are its signature dish.

A menu of sharing dishes with a Japanese touch

Sharing dishes is the norm. After croquettes, reviews repeatedly mention the bluefin tuna tartare and huevos rotos (broken fried eggs over potatoes) with foie gras. These are the dishes named most often:

  • House croquettes
  • Tuna tartare and tataki
  • Huevos rotos (broken fried eggs over potatoes) with foie gras and patatas bravas (potatoes with spicy sauce)
  • Bao buns, tacos and nachos
  • Caldero (the local fish and rice stew) and octopus

At lunchtime there is a set menu with a starter, main course and dessert, and those who order it praise how substantial it is. For à la carte dining, Google lists an average spend of 20 to 40 euros per person.

What returning customers say

Reviews agree on the speed: even when the place is full in summer, dishes arrive quickly. The waitresses' service comes up time and again, with dish recommendations when you cannot decide. Google also highlights the coffee, desserts and wine selection, and in the morning it serves as a café for breakfast and mid-morning meals.

Terrace, children and bookings

Agua Salá has a terrace and indoor dining room, high chairs and an informal atmosphere that suits families and groups of friends. It asks guests to book for lunch, dinner and brunch, which can be done online. There is free street parking, Wi-Fi and wheelchair access to the entrance, dining room and toilets. One of my gluten-free musts in Cabo de Palos! We went on a weekday after the summer and the set menus are really good, generous and great value! We'll definitely be back. 🤗

One of my favourites. Really friendly service and great food. A must if you come to Cabo de Palos. I recommend the squid bao bun, the Camembert, the pan of huevos rotos (broken fried eggs over potatoes) with ham… Actually, everything is delicious.
