Cala del Clavo (Cala de los Trillizos)

Cala del Clavo, which most people search for as Cala de los Trillizos, is a small rocky cove in Cabo de Palos, on Calle Punta Salinas, near the lighthouse. There is no sand: towels go on the rocks, and steps lead down to the water. It mainly attracts snorkellers.

Snorkelling in calm water

Visitors mention this most: clear, calm water, ideal for exploring the seabed with a mask and snorkel. Steps make entry easy, unlike some coves along this stretch. There is little space to lie down, so arriving early pays off in high season.

Among cliffs, near the lighthouse

The cove nestles into the cliff-lined coast around the headland, a short distance from the lighthouse in Cabo de Palos, and can be linked on foot with nearby coves. Some visitors prefer the coves before it, which have a little more space, so it is worth looking along the way.

A recent legend

The name Trillizos is linked to a story about three brothers and a giant nudibranch that circulates in reviews and is mentioned by several visitors. It is a tale, not a documented event.
