Fine sand and posidonia seagrass at the start of the Gran Vía

Playa Galúa is a beach on the Mediterranean side of La Manga, at km 3 of the Gran Vía, with fine sand and very clear water when there are no waves. It is among the busiest beaches at the start of La Manga, with a ramp leading to the beachfront, so it is listed as accessible.

Swimming, diving and surfing

When the sea is calm, you can swim with a mask over the posidonia seagrass meadows and see fish beside the rocks. When waves arrive, the atmosphere changes: surfers favour the area beside the Galúa hotel. Some days bring currents and a red beach flag, so check sea conditions before entering.

Services

There are lifeguards in high and shoulder seasons, and several beach bars along the sand open in summer, alongside a café by the hotel. The sand is cleaned frequently, and parking is available nearby.
