Mirador Playa del Banco del Tabal (Mirador Galúa)

El Mirador Playa del Banco del Tabal, known to almost everyone as Mirador del Galúa or Plaza del Mar, is a series of viewpoints and pedestrian paths beside the Galúa hotel, at exit 30 of the Gran Vía in La Manga del Mar Menor, at km 3. It faces Mediterráneo and Playa del Banco del Tabal.

A recent viewpoint

It opened in the summer of 2020, with wooden tiered seating and natural stone steps descending towards the coast. Later, Cartagena council replaced the metal railings, which had quickly rusted, with solid wooden ones that withstand the salty air better. Several visitors comment on the noticeable change.

What you can see

From the tiered seating, the view takes in the whole of Playa del Banco del Tabal and, on clear days, the outline of Isla Grosa. In summer, the beach draws surfers when waves arrive, and the seating makes a natural grandstand. It is also a good spot at night: some people come to watch the full moon over the sea.

Getting here

It is a short walk from Plaza Bohemia. Access is free at any time, and it combines well with the Monteblanco viewpoints, visible from here on the same side of La Manga. For more stops, see what to visit in La Manga.
