Where to stay
Hotels in La Manga del Mar Menor
There aren't many, and they book up quickly. Find out which hotels are here, where they are and who each one suits.
At a glance
La Manga has relatively few hotels compared with apartments: around a dozen properties spread across the strip, Cabo de Palos and the La Manga Club resort in Los Belones. Most are seasonal three- and four-star hotels, open April to October, with August prices of €95 to €210 a night.
Three options
On the strip: mid-sized hotels along Gran Vía with direct access to both beaches. The upside is stepping outside and choosing your sea; the downside is road noise in lower-floor rooms.
In Cabo de Palos: a handful of small hotels with a maritime feel, open all year. A good choice for diving or dining trips if you don't mind driving to swim in the Mar Menor.
In La Manga Club, Los Belones: a resort with golf, tennis and countryside, ten minutes from the sea. A different kind of holiday, at a different price.
When to book
For August, book before March. It sounds excessive, but hotel capacity is so limited that the first two weeks of August sell out six months ahead.
For June and September, booking three or four weeks ahead can still secure a good price, with warm water and half the crowds.
Make a note
Most hotels on the strip close from November to March. For winter visits, look in Cabo de Palos or Los Belones.
